Summary of Duties
As a member of the senior team in Business & Finance (B&F), the Director of Communications provides leadership and strategic direction for all aspects of internal and external public relations, communications and marketing efforts to support B&F.
The Office of Business and Finance includes several finance and academic support units including the Office of the Controller, Office of Financial Services, Financial Planning & Analysis, Internal Audit, Office of Investments, Purchasing, Stores, Receiving and Mail, Corporate Engagement Office, Resource Management Systems and the Office of Technology Commercialization and Knowledge Transfer. Prepares communication strategy and implements communication plan for major initiatives and develops and implements communications, presentations, and marketing tactics and programs that support the mission, strategic goals, and objectives of the office. Reports to the Sr. Vice President of Business and Finance & Chief Financial Officer as well as the Director of Communications for the Office of Academic Affairs. Collaborates with key communications staff throughout the university and serves as liaison with University Communications staff.
