In observance of Memorial Day, the National Veterans Memorial and Museum will honor Veterans, their families and those lives lost at two special events.

Guest Lecture: Nine Years Later: My Journey of Loss and Healing
Sunday May 26 at 7 p.m.
Join us in the Great Hall for a very special event featuring guest speaker, Ohio native Jennifer (Loredo) Ballou, Master Sergeant, U.S. Army (Retired), as she shares her story. Jennifer’s 21 years of service were filled with life-changing moments, but none more so than the loss of her husband, Staff Sergeant Edwardo Loredo, who was Killed in Action while deployed in Afghanistan. Memorial Day Ceremony
Monday, May 27 at 10 a.m.
The first National Veterans Memorial and Museum Memorial Day ceremony to honor the fallen will be held from 10 – 11 a.m. on Monday, May 27 on the Rooftop Terrace, with a rain location in the Great Hall. U.S. Senator Rob Portman and National Veterans Memorial and Museum CEO and President, Lt. General Michael Ferriter (Retired) will speak. The keynote address will be delivered by Ohio native and Gold Star Spouse Jennifer (Loredo) Ballou, Master Sergeant, U.S. Army (Retired). The program will also include a color guard, the playing of taps and the laying of a wreath to pay tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our Nation.
