New study reveals Ohio is among the states most interested in moving house this year

(TEXASREALESTATESOURCE.COM) – South Carolina is the state most interested in moving house this year; new study reveals. 

The research conducted by Texas real estate experts TexasRealEstateSource.com examined Google Trends data of search terms frequently used by people interested in moving house. These terms were then combined to give each state a ‘total search score’ to discover which states have been the most interested in moving house so far this year.

The study revealed that South Carolina ranks highest as the state most interested in moving house this year. With a total search score of 522, South Carolina ranked highly on the list for its population having the high search levels for the phrases ‘sell house’, ‘move home’ and ‘move house’ across America.

North Carolina is the state second most interested in moving house this year, with a total search score of 521 – just below South Carolina. North Carolina has the third-highest proportion of its population searching for the term ‘move home’ and eleventh highest for ‘sell house’, placing it overall second in the ranking. 

Arkansas places as the third state most interested in moving house this year. The Southern state has the highest level of searches for the terms ‘move house’ and ‘move home’, contributing to Arkansas’ total search score of 518. Interestingly, the state that residents in Arkansas most wanted to relocate to was Texas, according to Google Trends data.

In fourth is Georgia, with a total search score of 517. Georgia has the third-highest proportion of its population searching for both of the terms ‘move house’ and ‘sell house’. Georgia also ranks eleventh for the term ‘buy house’, leading to the state placing fourth overall.

Alabama also ranks as one of the states most interested in moving house this year, placing fifth overall. With a total search score of 514, Alabama has the twelth-highest level of searches for the term ‘move house’ and the 18th out of all fifty states of searches for ‘sell house’.

Additionally, Delaware places as the sixth state most interested in moving house. The study revealed that the Delaware has the seventh-highest search levels for the term ‘move house’ and is the second-highest searching state for the term ‘mortgage’, contributing to a search score of 512.

Texas is the state seventh most interested in moving house this year, with a total search score of 510. Texas has the ninth-highest proportion of its population searching for the term ‘move house’ and tenth highest for ‘sell house’, placing it overall seventh in the ranking. 

Ohio places as the eighth state most interested in moving house this year. The state has the ninth-highest level of searches for the term ‘sell house’ and third highest for the term ‘houses for sale’, contributing to Ohio’s total search score of 509. 

In ninth is Kentucky, with a total search score of 505. Kentucky has the eleventh-highest proportion of its population searching for the term ‘move home’. Kentucky also ranks sixth for the term ‘houses for sale’, leading to the state placing ninth overall.

Indiana rounds out the top ten states most interested in moving house this year, placing tenth overall. With a total search score of 504, Indiana ranked 18th out of all fifty states of searches for ‘mortgage’.
